Profile - Peter Owen

Peter Owen is the Managing Consultant and founder of the Innovative Group. He has worked in a variety of roles for over 35 years including Board level, Strategic planning, General Management, Business Operations, Sales, Marketing, Change Management, Transformation & Human Resources.

Peter started his career with the Philips Group, working both in the UK and the Netherlands, and over a twelve year period enjoyed roles in systems analysis, design, marketing, national operations and finally as the board member with responsibility for over 200 staff. He then worked as European Director for a US Software company specialising in Banking systems followed by an assignment in a UK Bank as an officer for the IT business systems.

Peter joined Unisys with a remit to increase their financial services business profile across Europe, where he worked extensively across seventeen countries in Europe. Operations covered the new and emerging markets of Central and Eastern Europe, in both Sales, Marketing and Operational roles.

In January 1998, he became responsible for creating & then supporting their Major Accounts in Europe, followed shortly with the added responsibility for Continental European Sales and Business Operations. The roles included providing strategic planning, sales & service effectiveness and management and guidance. 

In early 2001, to fulfil his vision of a more balanced lifestyle, he created the niche Management Consultancy, Innovative Connexions, where as their Managing Consultant he has brought together a group of business experienced Associates.

Peter has created Innovative Connexions as a consultancy partnership, which aims to combine innovative and creative thinking with practical consulting. All the consultants aim to enable executives and leaders, at all levels, to enhance and improve the performance of their organisations.

Innovative Connexions specialises in 'People to People' (P2P) consultancy skills, looking at empowering an organisation to become more productive in all areas.

Peter, with his Associates, are able to use this widely gained experience to view client business problems and recommend resolutions from all viewpoints including business owners, management teams, customers, shareholders and all employees.

Peter has been a judge on many National Award schemes, including The National Sales Awards and the National Service Excellence Awards.

Peter is an active member of the Institute of Directors (currently Vice Chairman of Branch), Chartered Management Institute, European Atlantic Group and a member of the British Computer Society. His many networks include The Executive Network, The Water Table and The Cambridge Chamber of Commerce.
